IN DETAIL
SPECIFICATIONS
At Josep Arbós SL, we offer the following corrugated cardboard compositions:
- Micro-flute (E): Composed of two layers of paper and a third inner layer with fluting, with a total thickness ranging from 1.6 to 2 mm.
- Flute (B): Composed of two layers of paper and a third inner layer with fluting, with a total thickness ranging from 2.7 to 3 mm.
- Flute (C): Composed of two layers of paper and a third inner layer with fluting, with a total thickness ranging from 3.7 to 4 mm.
- Flute (BC): Composed of three layers of paper and two more inner layers with fluting, with a total thickness ranging from 6.5 to 7 mm.
- Flute (CBB): Composed of four layers of paper and three more inner layers with fluting, with a total thickness ranging from 10 to 13 mm.
We offer a variety of corrugated cardboard sheets with different profiles and qualities, such as MICRO-FLUTE (E), 3-FLUTE (B), 5-FLUTE (C), DOUBLE-FLUTE (BC), and TRIPLEX-FLUTE (CBB), which is the combination of Flute C and 2 Flute B (7 layers of paper). These profiles have different compositions and thicknesses that determine their quality and final use.
The paper quality types can be:
1. Kraft, Test Liner, Bi-clase o Estucado
- Kraft Paper: Paper made with a high percentage of virgin pulp. It is very strong and can be used bleached or unbleached.
- Test Paper: Also known as testliner, it is composed of recycled paper pulp and a portion of virgin kraft pulp or recovered kraft paper scraps.
- Dual-class Paper: This paper is made with a high percentage of recycled paper pulp.
- Coated Paper: This is a satin-finished paper to which a “coating” layer has been applied, made up of various adhesives and mineral pigments. This satin finish makes the paper less porous, providing a smooth, uniform surface with less ink absorption capacity.
2. Corrugated Paper: Straw or Semi-chemical
- Semi-chemical Paper: This is the paper resulting from the semi-chemical pulping process.
- Straw or Fluting: It is composed of recyclable and recycled materials.
All papers can be produced with different weights, depending on the quality, ranging from +/- 85 g/m² to +/- 400 g/m².
Likewise, all papers can be used in different compositions (Flute E, B, C, BC, and CBB).

PRINTING
Printing on corrugated cardboard is mainly done for product transport, identification, promotion, and presentation purposes.
At Josep Arbós S.L. we apply the following techniques:

Flexography
This is the most widely used technique for printing on corrugated cardboard. It involves transferring ink to the cardboard using resin plates. It is suitable for both small and large production volumes and provides good quality results.
Offset
This is primarily used for high-quality prints. The ink is first transferred to a rubber cylinder and then to the cardboard. With Offset, we achieve great precision along with a wide range of colors.
Digital
This allows for short-run, personalized printing with high image quality and a quick response to market demand using a CIP file.
These techniques offer different options to suit the client’s specific printing needs, production volume, quality, and cost requirements.
